Help Hub
What is a Help Hub?
At Trauma Research UK, we know that the first step toward change is often the hardest to take. Reaching out can feel uncertain or even out of reach, so we aim to make that step as accessible and human as possible.
That’s why we don’t simply wait for people to come to us. We take our support and understanding directly into the heart of communities where people already are. We meet individuals in everyday spaces so that support feels less intimidating and more like a natural conversation.
Our Mobile Help Hubs bring this approach to life. Whether at community venues or in public spaces, we create opportunities for informal, supportive connections without pressure or expectation. These hubs are designed to feel welcoming and grounded, offering a space where people can ask questions and share what’s going on for them, or simply take in information at their own pace.
Rather than being a formal service setting, the Mobile Help Hubs act as a bridge, helping people move from feeling stuck or unsure toward understanding what support might look like for them and what next steps could be possible.
Meeting You Where You Are
When you see our volunteers at an event or a local gathering, you’ll find more than just information. You’ll find:
- A Listening Ear: Sometimes, the most powerful thing is simply being heard. Our volunteers are there for supportive, non-judgmental conversations about what you’ve been through.
- Immediate Coping Techniques: If you are feeling overwhelmed in the moment, we can guide you through practical grounding exercises and “Crisis to Calm” techniques.
- Expert Guidance: Learn more about the root causes of trauma and how our 6-week HASP programme can help you regain control.
- A Friendly Face: We are there to break the stigma around mental health and offer a warm, human connection to anyone feeling lost or anxious.
